COMPrehensive roof restoration

Project Overview

This project involved a comprehensive restoration of a residential property in Tuttle, OK, which includes the main house, two metal carports, a covered patio, and a well house. The work was carried out in three distinct phases to ensure minimal disruption and optimal results:

  1. Primary House Roof: Completed in mid-February within a single day, involved tearing off the old shingles and installing new ones.

  2. Metal Roofs: Early March saw the installation of new metal roofs over the two carports, covered patio, and well house, taking a week to complete.

  3. Vinyl Siding: The final phase in late April addressed the damaged vinyl siding of the well house. This took three days and was delayed due to material availability.

The Challenge

In June 2023, a severe hailstorm hit the area, pelting the property with baseball-sized hail. This event caused extensive damage, punching holes in the shingles and siding, creasing and separating metal roofing seams. The initial insurance estimate was only $24,000, which was insufficient to cover all the necessary repairs. Our team's detailed evaluation and persistent advocacy led to an adjusted claim that significantly increased the funding to $82,000, allowing for comprehensive repairs.

Our Solution

Our small, expert team tackled the restoration with a focus on high-quality, durable materials. We replaced the shingle and SPF roof with GAF Armorshield II impact-resistant shingles, installed aluminum seamless gutters, and patched damaged skylights. The carports and porch received heavy gauge R-panel and aluminum structural standing seam roofing, respectively. The well house was outfitted with a similar heavy gauge metal roofing, and we updated the siding with 4" Dutch lap from PlyGem, enhancing the property's resilience and aesthetic appeal.

The Outcome

The restoration not only returned the property to its pre-storm condition but also enhanced its durability and market value. The homeowner was particularly impressed with the material upgrades and our team's ability to navigate the insurance process, resulting in a property that is both more beautiful and better protected against future incidents.
